A World-Class Kickoff: Celebrating the Road to SeattleFWC26

Announcement
February 3, 2026

On January 15, the energy in Pioneer Square shifted from a typical winter evening to a global celebration. The SeattleFWC26 Local Organizing Committee and the Puyallup Tribe of Indians, our Presenting Legacy Supporter, and the Port of Seattle co-hosted the Celebration of Nations at Railspur, and if the vibe that night was any indication, our city is ready for the world stage.

With over 200 guests in attendance—ranging from community leaders and partners to the most dedicated fans—the evening was a vibrant tribute to the nations that will compete in Seattle’s six FIFA World Cup 2026 matches. We were even joined by Belgian Consul General Sophie Hottat as well as Australian Consul General Christoper Ketter.

More Than Just a Game

While the World Cup is technically about what happens on the pitch, the Celebration of Nations reminded us that the true magic happens in the stands and on the streets.

The event centered on the unifying power of sport. In a world that can often feel divided, football remains the universal language. The partnership with the Puyallup Tribe of Indians underscored a deep commitment to honoring history while welcoming the diverse cultures that will soon call Seattle home for the summer.

The Countdown Begins

This event wasn't just a party; it was a milestone. It signaled to the world—and to ourselves—that Seattle is ready. As we prepare to welcome fans from every corner of the globe, the Celebration of Nations set the tone for what's to come: a summer of inclusivity, passion, and world-class competition.

The world is coming to Seattle. Are you ready?
