HOST CITY POSTER CONTEST

SEATTLE LOCAL ORGANIZING COMMITTEE

The 2026 FIFA World Cup will be the biggest ever : 48 nations playing 104 matches across Canada, Mexico, and the United States.  Seattle will host six matches.

FIFA selects tournament and host city posters for every World Cup. SeattleFWC26 is requesting submissions and will select up to four finalists for a poster design to represent our City and State. Each finalist will receive a $2,500 finalist fee.

FIFA and SeattleFWC26 will jointly select one of the finalists as the official Seattle Host City Poster. The Seattle poster will be one of 16 representing each FWC26 host city and will be seen across the globe.

How it Register

Step 2
Agree to and sign our rules, terms & conditions via DocuSign.
Step 3
About an hour after registering, check your email to gain access to our Artist Dashboard.
Step 4
Read the Creative Guide, download all assets, then create and choose a submission path. Final Design or Design Concept Path.

AFTER ARTIST REGISTRATION, THERE ARE TWO WAYS TO COMPETE:

PATH ONE
FINAL DESIGN

Registered participants can compete by submitting their final designs by October 20th. If a finalized design is selected as a finalist, they will become eligible to receive a $2,500 finalist fee and their design will move forward for consideration as the official host city poster.

PATH Two
PORTFOLIO AND CONCEPT DESIGN

Registered participants can also compete by submitting a portfolio of their previous work and a concept statement for the poster design they will submit. If a Portfolio + Design Concept is selected, the participant must agree to create a finalized design and submit it within 3 weeks. If the finalized design meets the design guidance and is submitted on time, the participant would become eligible to receive a $2,500 finalist fee, and their design will move forward for consideration as the official host city poster.

The Seattle Host City Poster Design will be an iconic visual legacy connecting people across the world to our City and State during the largest sporting event in history.

Working within this guidance, we encourage designs that capture the essence of what makes Seattle and Washington special: the nature, landscapes, culture, values, and people that set us apart as the Emerald City and the Evergreen State.

The World Cup is the largest unification event in the world, bringing people together in happiness through peaceful competition.

The best designs will highlight what makes our region special and capture the unifying power of the World Cup.

FAqs

To register and become eligible, participants must review and sign contest Terms and Conditions (T&Cs), including confidentiality and nondisclosure and assignment of intellectual property rights. Participants also agree to provide proof of their eligibility upon request.

  • 18 or older at the time they submit the design
  • Reside in Washington and be able to provide proof of residence on request
  • Completed Online Registration and Accompanying Forms--no late registrations allowed
  • Has not violated the T&Cs
  • Each person may submit only one design
  • SeattleFWC26 reserves the right to end the submission period early
  • Finalists agree to consider refinements to their submitted design before final submission to FIFA. FIFA may also ask for refinements. 
  • Finalists’ design not chosen by FIFA may be used for other purposes by SeattleFWC26  
  • Finalists may be asked to sit for a short recorded interview to accompany their submission to FIFA in which they describe themselves and their design, process, and inspiration.
  • The 3-4 finalists will each receive a $2,500 finalist fee from SeattleFWC26, may be asked to participate in public and press events that promote awareness and excitement about FWC26, and may be eligible in the future to receive invitations to SeattleFWC26 hospitality events, legacy activations, or FWC26 matches.
